Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa at Indian Wells recently underwent a multimillion-dollar transformation.

Following a dramatic multimillion-dollar design transformation, Renaissance Indian Wells has officially re-opened as Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa at Indian Wells set within Southern California’s beautiful Coachella Valley. It has 560 guest rooms including 103 suites, remastered corridors, a new multi-story lobby, an industry-leading fitness center, vibrant pool-area enhancements, and includes the establishment of an olive tree grove and the debut of a magical new outdoor gathering spot.

Guests can unwind with an array of unique treatments at the property’s stunning Spa Esmeralda, which has luxurious steam rooms, therapy baths, unique private outdoor cabanas, and a spa garden. Its menu offers facials, body scrubs, massages, and other desert-inspired therapies that will unleash one’s inner beauty and calm the mind and body. We spoke with Spa Director Many Alquist, who shared insider tips, treatments to try, and more.

Insider’s Tip: If you’re running short on time, we have our Express Beauty Bar treatments. They are anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes and the results are amazing!

Bonus: On weekends, we have a DIY detox scrub bar in our spa garden with step-by-step instructions. It’s fun to do with your girlfriends or on your own to add to your day of relaxation.

Snacks Served: We have apples, mixed nuts, and dried fruit. We also have coffee, tea, and Pure Inventions water infusions available. If guests would like something more, we have our Spa Fresh Fare menu that guests can order from with great options like our Hearts of Palm Ceviche and Roasted Corn Elote.

Insider’s Favorite: We have some great treatments! My favorite massage is our Thaiyurveda, an 80-minute service that incorporates stretches, acupressure points, and a massage with a steamed herbal poultice. It’s very therapeutic. If you’re looking for something more relaxing, our Lavender Dreams Body Treatment is amazing! It starts with an exfoliation and then you’re cocooned in warm blankets while the therapist massages warm lavender oil into your scalp. For facials, I would go with our 80-minute Elemis Biotec Facial. You get all the benefits of a hands-on traditional facial paired with instant results from the infusion of pro-formulas and technology.
