Machu Picchu in Peru is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Since Machu Picchu in Peru was voted as one of the Seven Wonders of the World in 2007, the destination’s popularity has grown immensely. In 10 years, the number of annual visitors has grown from 800,000 to more than 1.5 million people. As a result, the Peruvian authorities have been forced to restrain the number of visitors in order to mitigate potential impacts from tourism. The main restrictions include:

  • Limiting the daily number of people who enter the sanctuary

  • Restricting the maximum visiting time to four hours per person

  • Requiring a certified guide

With explora hotels, travelers don’t need to worry about the above restrictions since two options are offered, following these regulations, to explore Machu Picchu. Guests reserving a stay at explora Valle Sagrado between May and October will get the Machu Picchu exploration as a gift, which features a full day that includes land transfers (by van and train), entrance ticket to the sanctuary, snacks, and a certified local guide.

In addition to Machu Picchu, they will receive a discount on the last night of their stay, depending on the length of their trip. Five-night reservations only pay for four nights, while four and three-night reservations receive a 75% and 50% discount, respectively, for the last night.

Located at the heart of the Inca Empire, explora Valle Sagrado was designed as a headquarters from where to go out and explore a remote and amazing destination: Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The all-inclusive programs are unique and include accommodations, transfers, meals, drinks, and the option to choose one full-day or two half-day explorations daily. This is in addition to the Machu Picchu exploration, which is included as a gift this season.

During the evenings, guests enjoy the typical amenities of a luxury hotel. The rooms guarantee a deep rest, the relaxation area ensures full disconnection, and the cozy common areas promote friendly encounters with other guests. The food is made with local products and inspired by Peruvian cuisine.

Only three years after the arrival of the renowned luxury and adventure explora hotel chain to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, the hotel ranked third in the category “25 Top Hotels in Peru” in Tripadvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards.
