We Joined Celebrity Hairstylist Guy Tang for a Luxury Staycation to Celebrate the Launch of #mydentity REFLECT Liquid Demi-Permanent Color

We recently joined celebrity colorist and hairstylist Guy Tang for a luxury staycation in Los Angeles.

I recently got to join celebrity hairstylist Guy Tang for a staycation in Los Angeles to celebrate the launch of #mydentity REFLECT Liquid Demi-Permanent Hair Color.

A renowned master colorist and educator, Tang’s new line is all about having fun with color and making it work for you. #mydentity REFLECT is a versatile formula that comes in 15 new shades that allow you to gloss, tone, enhance or intensify your hair.

The #mydentity REFLECT Liquid Demi-Permanent Hair Color is available in 15 new shades from warm to cool and improves softness of the hair and increases shine.

With a quick 15-minute processing time, you don’t have to spend an entire day in the salon. Free of ammonia or alcohol and formulated with keratin amino acids, you can feel good about adding a pop of color—without sacrificing the integrity of your hair or your client’s hair.

Got commitment issues when it comes to your hair? The demi-permanent color lasts up to 25 shampoos while the clear formula will give you that added gloss without the color. We learned all about the launch and were given the royal treatment which included blowouts. We also got to spend the afternoon poolside at the lovely Shay hotel in Culver City.

We stayed at The Shay Hotel in Culver City and enjoyed poolside cocktails.

Cocktails by the pool? Never a bad idea. We then spent the evening with Tang and his team chatting over an amazing dinner at Margot, followed by dessert at Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.

We had dinner with Tang and his team at Margot, a stunning rooftop restaurant.

Afterwards we indulged in a sweet treat from Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.

Spending the day with Tang, we were able to learn about the line, but more importantly, about his own identity and his passion for hair.  We had a heart-to-heart and shared connection both coming from Asian backgrounds.

I also got to experience a personal styling session with Tang.

Tang’s passion for helping people find their own identity and purpose through hair is so inspiring. He created #mydentity because he wanted to create a line that would allow people to customize their hair color and enable complete self-expression. We shared stories of not always feeling like we fit in or belonging to a certain group.

I shared with him my new favorite mantra (thanks @sarahtannomakeup) that when you don’t feel like you fit in a box, build your own. I wholeheartedly and truly believe that when we are allowed to be unapologetically ourselves, our lives are filled with endless possibilities.

With his brand and products, Tang has created a community that empowers others and enables every person to find their own personal #mydentity.

Tang wanted to create a family, a community, and a place for everyone to find their own identity—whatever that means to them.

“Because when you know who you are, you have the courage to do anything you dream of,” Tang said.

I think he achieved that goal, and is inspiring others to live freely and be themselves. I don’t know if he knows it, but Tang is officially my #hairbestie!

Thank you so much to Guy Tang and his entire team for inviting me to be a part of this incredible experience. Not only were we able to learn more and connect with the brand, but to also connect as people, which is at the heart of #mydentity.
