We Experienced the New Interactive Wellness Lounge at JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa

JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa is home to Spa Desert Springs, a 38,000-square-foot wellness sanctuary.

Palm Desert’s largest resort, JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, is nestled among beautiful flamingo-filled lakes, golf greens, and pools and resembles a desert oasis. The resort houses multiple pools, six restaurants, two championship golf courses with a driving range, newly renovated rooms, and a brand-new Interactive Wellness Lounge in their spa.

Spa Profile: Spa Desert Springs

The 38,000-square-foot spa and wellness center has 48 treatment rooms, a spa bistro, heated saltwater lap pool, spa bistro, whirlpool, fitness center, Eucalyptus steam room, and spa suites. The new co-ed Interactive Wellness Lounge is the first in the Marriott brand. The lounge offers 15 state-of-the-art lounge chairs including NuWave Zero Gravity Wave loungers, Ceragem M2 Massaging loungers, and MindSync loungers.

Spa Desert Springs recently added a new co-ed Interactive Wellness Lounge, which offers 15-state-of-the-arty lounge chairs.

The Nu-Wave Zero Gravity Wave loungers let guests choose different positions for optimal hand, head, and foot comfort. The loungers improve circulation and can help ease back strain. The Therabody massage goggles, powered by Smartsense technology, provide a warm pulsing massage to eye and forehead pressure points to provide sinus relief, lower the heart rate, and soothe headaches.

Spa Review: We Tried the Desert Journey at Spa Desert Springs

The Ceragem M2 Massage loungers are heat-optional total body massage chairs that include six modes to treat the back, hips, thighs, and neck. Guests can also choose from two complimentary enhancements including an eye mask, calf compression air massage, collagen cloves, and foot mask or Therabody massaging goggles. There is also a warm abdominal massager to provide stomach relief.

The lounge chairs include NuWave Zero Gravity Wave loungers, Ceragem M2 Massaging loungers, and MindSync loungers.

The Mind Sync loungers were my favorite of the three and include noise-cancelling headphones and cozy blankets. Vibro-acoustic sound wave therapy is offered in six different meditative sound options including the ocean, nature, storm and rain. Curated music synchronizes the brain’s hemispheres lowering activity to the calmer Alpha, Theta, and Delta states.

Here’s what you’ll love about the new Wellness Lounge:

  • It’s free for all spa guests. Spa guests booked for a treatment will gain complimentary access to the lounge on a first come, first served basis.

  • Privacy curtains and blankets. The separating privacy curtains allow guests to fully relax and enjoy each of the lounge sections.

  • Enhancements. The new lounge offers a variety of free and low-cost enhancements including eye masks, collagen gloves and sock masks, Therabody massaging goggles, and calf compression air massage.

  • New healthy food and drink menu at the Spa Bistro. Executive Chef Eric Theiss and Spa Director Dawn Ferraro have created a new menu including fresh juices, smoothies, acai bowls, salads, sandwiches, and sushi.
