Spa Review: World Spa in Brooklyn Offers a Luxurious Escape That Introduces Guests to Bathing Cultures from Around the World

World Spa is located in Brooklyn, NY and offers 50,000 square feet of relaxation and wellness space.

Nestled in Southern Brooklyn lies World Spa, a noticeably chic tranquil sanctuary. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by the spa’s gracious staff, who explained where everything was and what to expect.

New York Spa Guide: The Best Spas in Brooklyn

World Spa is defined by its spaciousness and an elevated level of grandeur, setting it apart from your average local spa—needless to say, I appreciated the guidance from the front desk.

Check-in was seamless; guests can order various services (including food) via electronic bracelets. The locker room is conveniently located right by the entry and is sparkling clean, with robes provided.

The spa features three unique levels, meaning there’s no shortage of ways to unwind, on your time.

A unique feature is the snow room, where guests can revel in the whimsy of continuous falling snow—a delightful escape for those who dare to embrace the chill.

In the snow room, guests can relax and chill out while snow continuously falls.

After taking in the huge heated pools and mesmerizing saunas—highlights include a Himalayan salt room and a Moroccan room with imported tiles—I indulged in a refreshing fruity beverage.

The menu is eclectic, with treats from around the world available, as well as staples like cheeseburgers and truffle fries. The menu is accessible digitally, adding to the overall modern feel.

There is even a member's-only lounge and an opportunity to host private events.

World Spa also offers Turkish and Moroccan hammams.

While I enjoyed soaking and schvitzing, the pinnacle of my spa day was undoubtedly the Couples Massage— an immersive relaxing experience in an inviting private room larger than most other spas offer.

Massage therapists checked in to ensure we were comfortable throughout the treatment. Note that modifications are possible depending on your needs, including for pregnancy.

Spa experiences alternate from hot to cold with saunas, hammams, salt rooms, and more.

"The Pure Relaxation Massage helps to improve sleep, blood circulation and leaves a person feeling refreshed,” says Lana Bekker, Treatment Center Director of World Spa, on what sets their technique apart. The technique uses a light and firm touch to relax muscles and increase blood flow to the body's tissues.”

I can testify—I left feeling completely blissed out.
