Spa Review: Spavia Park Meadows Offers Results-Driven Spa Treatments in a Resort-Inspired Setting

Spavia Park Meadows is located in Centennial, CO—a suburb of Denver.

Anyone who lives in Colorado understands that the high altitude and dry climate can wreak havoc on your skin. Trying to stay hydrated is a constant battle that sometimes leads to dry skin, especially in winter. Add onto that the effects of aging and you have a recipe for a tired, dull, and less-than-youthful appearance.

Colorado Spa Guide: The Best Spas in Denver

With the goal of improving my winter-weary 40-something complexion, I visited the Spavia location in Park Meadows, CO to experience one of their classic facials—the 60-minute Premier Age Defense Facial ($129). This service hydrates and tightens the skin while offering a blend of enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids to smooth the complexion to a youthful appearance.

What’s more, the facial offers a superior blend of active clinical brighteners that gently fade discoloration while vitamin C and hyaluronic acid nourish and plump the skin, leaving you feeling refreshed and moisturized. The final touch is the application of the spa’s Skin Cancer Foundation-approved mineral sunscreen.

The spa’s retreat area.

As I entered the spa, I was greeted warmly by the front desk guest advisor. After I checked in, one of the team members gave me a brief tour of the women’s locker room (she showed me where to find my plush spa robe and sandals) and the retreat area where spa guests can relax before and after their treatments.

Guests can slip on a comfy spa robe and relax in the retreat area before a service.

I was excited to try the warm neck pillows as I tend to carry a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders. There was an assortment of herbal and caffeinated teas, as well as snacks to enjoy before my facial.

I noticed the tension in my neck melting away from the warmed neck pillow as I sipped on a cup of herbal tea. A few minutes later, the esthetician led me to one of the cozy treatment rooms down the hall from the retreat area. She asked me questions about my age, skin type, and any specific skincare concerns I had.

Soothing brown hues and low lighting inside the treatment rooms create a relaxing respite from the outside world.

She noted that I was booked for the Age Defense Facial, but she modified the treatment slightly to address issues of redness that I mentioned during the consultation. She recommended the Soothing Recovery Facial for a future treatment. All skincare treatments at Spavia emphasize results-driven facials.

After the consultation, I settled onto the massage table to enjoy 60 minutes of pampering including a deeply relaxing facial massage, a neck and shoulder massage with hot stones, and an arm and hand massage. I emerged with soft, moisturized, and plumper skin—ready to face the elements outside.

I enjoyed my facial in a relaxing private treatment room.
