Spa Review: A Relaxing Stone Ritual at Spa Pendry

The women’s changing room at Spa Pendry is decorated in soothing pink ceramic tile, gold and matte black accents, and has colorful artwork on every wall.

No stone is left unturned at Pendry West Hollywood’s Spa Pendry when it comes to their relaxing Stone Ritual Massage. I recently enjoyed a spa day there with my friend Kamala, who details her own experience and treatment here.

Upon my arrival I slipped into one of the plushiest robes in the women’s changing room, which is decked out in soothing pink ceramic tile, gold and matte black accents, and has colorful artwork on every wall.

Then I walked over to the relaxation lounge where I sipped on water and snacked on a few light bites before my massage therapist came to get me and took me past the curtains that lead to the private treatment rooms.

Here’s a nice touch by the way: The staff are very prompt, but not in a rush—just in a punctual way. It was something I truly appreciated.

The Best Los Angeles Spas

I changed into a comfy plush robe that was provided by the spa before heading to the relaxation lounge.

As I walked into the massage room, all I could think was—wow! The space was gorgeous. I was given the couples treatment room even though I was getting a solo massage, but I certainly didn’t mind the extra space.

In front of the massage tables was an accessible farmhouse sink, floating shelves with minimalistic decor, and white oak cabinets. The tables were comfortably lined with soft linens and heated to the perfect temperature. I was also able to choose the scent of the body soufflé used for my treatment. Lavender eucalyptus it is!

I enjoyed my service in the couples treatment room.

My therapist began with a firm and thorough back massage. His hands gave the right amount of pressure and focused on my problem areas like my upper shoulders and neck. He started kneading form the top down, then followed up with the hot stones.

The stones danced around my back in a perfect rhythm and were focused on the problem areas. It truly helped the stress and strain I was experiencing there. Plus, the heat of the stones released the lavender fragrance in the whipped shea butter that was used on my skin, which made the entire room smell incredible.

Most of the 60-minute massage was focused on my back, legs and feet. Toward the end of it, my therapist gave me a soothing scalp massage and worked on my neck for additional relaxation. I was so comfortable that I could have laid on the table for another hour! There’s always a next time, right?

The spa’s amenities include private showers with toiletries and products.

I highly recommend enjoying a steam room session before or after your treatment.

The Relaxing Stone Ritual is offered in 60-minute ($295), 90-minute ($415) and 120-minute ($545) sessions. Afterwards, I suggest relaxing in the steam room and taking a hot shower.

And you don’t need to bring anything to the spa, as it has every amenity you could think of to help you get ready for the day.
