Recreate Penelope Cruz's 2020 Oscars Look by Lancôme

One of our favorite looks at the 2020 Oscars was from actress Penelope Cruz, who stunned on the red carpet in a black silk gown by Chanel and a stunning Lancôme look that included sophisticated brown smokey eye accentuated with bronzer and soft tones, created by celebrity makeup artist Hung Vanngo.
“Penelope loves the glamour and makeup looks of the ‘90s,” says Vanngo. “So we decided to go with that direction by enhancing her beautiful eyes and lips using smokey bronze shades and a defined salmon-y lip color.” Here, he shares a step-by-step for recreating Cruz’s red carpet look:
Skin
Start by prepping skin with Lancôme Rénergie Lift Multi-Action Ultra Sheet Mask.
Remove the mask and apply the Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Serum to skin, along with Lancôme Rénergie Lift Multi-Action Ultra Face Cream with SPF 30 and Lancôme Rénergie Lift Multi-Action Eye Cream to rehydrate and plump the skin. Hung explains, “by properly prepping the skin, this allows the skin to look fresh and red carpet ready.”
Face
Use Lancôme Prep & Hydrate Primer as a base.
Apply Lancôme Rénergie Lift Makeup Foundation SPF 27 in 350 Dore only in the T-Zone and blend outward, and use a tiny bit on the neck. Don’t apply to the entire face. “She has beautiful freckles so that’s why I didn’t want to use so much," says Hung.
Use Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage Concealer in 215 Buff N around the eyes and just under the nose.
Use Lancôme Star Bronzer in Sunkiss around the jaw and hairline to give the face more definition.
Apply Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Blur and Highlight Duo Stick in Light Pink just around the high cheekbones, a little on the tip of the nose and on the cupid’s bow on the lip.
Apply Lancôme Blush Subtil in Cedar Rose on the apples of the cheeks and blend out on the highlight of the cheekbones.
Apply Lancôme Long Time No Shine Loose Setting Powder in Translucent around the jawline, forehead and T-Zone to remove any unwanted shine.
Finish with Lancôme Fix It Forget It Setting Spray.
Eyes
Define brows with Lancôme Brow Define Pencil in Brown. Hung comments, “she has gorgeous brows, so I extended just a little bit longer and then set with the styler.”
Set brows with Lancôme Sourcils Styler in Brun.
Line upper and lower waterlines with Lancôme Le Stylo Waterproof Eyeliner in Bruns Frivole. Then using the same liner, apply a thick line on the upper last line and blend outward.
Use Lancôme Le Stylo Waterproof Eyeliner in Bronze Folie on the lower lash line and on the inner corner of eyes, then blend out.
Apply 2 coats of Lancôme Hypnôse Drama on the upper lashes and 1 coat on the lower lashes.
Using the warm bronzy shade of the Lancôme Hypnôse 5-Color Eyeshadow Palette in Terre de Sienne, apply to the crease of the eye, along the crease of the eye, and along the lower lash line. Using the darker brown shade within the palette, apply it to the outer corner of the eyes, and blend it out and up.
Lips
Lightly line lips with Lancôme Le Lip Liner in Ideal.
Using a lip brush for a more controlled application, apply Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge Ruby Cream Lipstick in Coeur De Rubis to the lips.
