Spa Ojai’s new, technology and sustainability-forward design offers a world-class spa experience in the heart of Southern California’s wellness mecca and has earned a Forbes Travel Guide 5 Star designation. The 31,000-square-foot Spa Ojai at the Ojai Valley Inn recently underwent a luxurious $5 million dollar renovation spanning the twenty-four treatment rooms, public spaces, and two 1,500 square foot, luxurious penthouse guest suites.

Treatment recommendations at Spa Ojai include their famous Kuyam Experience. The Kuyam, a Chumash Native American Indian word meaning "a place to rest together," is a unique detoxifying experience that combines therapeutic, self-applied desert clay with essential oils, intense dry heat, and inhalation therapy in a sauna-like environment.

Revel is the perfect place to visit for a refreshing kombucha tasting. At Revel you’ll sip on fresh jun kombucha, an effervescent living health tonic known as the "champagne of kombuchas." We love the Pink Moment, a beautiful pink blend of hibiscus, ginger, and orange zest.

One of our favorite places for calm and reflection in Ojai, Meditation Mount is currently open! It's a beautiful place to meditate while enjoying gorgeous views of the Ojai Valley. Meditation Mount is offering pre-registered visitations beginning with two-hour self-guided meditation experiences or $10 per person. We also love the Ojai Retreat for a beautiful meditation getaway. This five-acre retreat center, which provides 360 degree panoramic views and has three libraries, is currently open to reservations. With 12 guest rooms, this hilltop inn is a wonderful place to stay for a relaxing getaway.

8. Hike

Ojai is home to great walking paths and hiking trails. Many of the hikes will reward you with amazing views. For an easy hike, drive to the end of North Signal Street in downtown Ojai.

Ojai Valley Land Conservatory maintains 27 miles of trail and is a great resource for learning about the beautiful land in Ojai with workshops, events, and guided hikes available. If you are looking for an easy trail, one of Ojai Valley Land Conservancy’s trails is Ojai Meadows Preserve, a peaceful .64 mile walk that takes you through wetlands, meadows, and Eucalyptus trees.

Another favorite Ojai hike is Rose Valley Falls. The 1.1 mile Rose Valley hike will reward you with a beautiful waterfall. If you enjoy camping, Rose Valley campground (take the 33 to Los Padres National Forest) is a popular option where campers enjoy beautiful natural surroundings.

A popular camping option is Lake Casitas Recreation Area (about 15 minutes from downtown Ojai), but keep in mind Lake Casitas is a “no body contact” lake. This means there is no swimming, wading, or getting in the water permitted.

If you’re a music fan looking for fun things to do in Ojai, there are plenty of great places to hear both local and well-known performers. At the back of Libbey Park, you’ll find Libbey Bowl, a special outdoor music venue that’s the perfect place to catch a concert in the summer. In June, Libbey Bowl hosts the famous Ojai Music Festival. Author Eve Babitz even wrote about it in her classic book “Eve’s Hollywood.”

Enjoy a glass of wine and a local band at The Vine, right in the center or downtown—on some days you can sit outside and listen to outdoor performances.

Another fun thing to do in Ojai is to go for a bike ride surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of this gorgeous destination.

Rent a bike at The Mob Shop in Ojai and take a leisurely ride down the nine-mile Ojai Valley Trail. If you prefer, the Mob Shop also offers a selection of guided tours where you’ll get the insider’s experience, stopping at historical landmarks and enjoying breathtaking views. Ojai Valley Bike trail provides a beautiful scenic ride surrounded by nature and is considered an easy trail suitable for any level.

In Ojai, there are many restaurants where you can enjoy healthy cuisine made from fresh local ingredients. We love stopping by the Farmer and the Cook for a refreshing smoothie or a snack. For delicious Italian fare, Osteria Monte Grappa serves dishes featuring organic, locally sourced produce and local olive oil.

17. Enjoy Relaxing Ojai Lavender

Ojai is known for its lavender and even has a Lavender festival to celebrate the much loved plant every year. The Ojai Lavender Festival takes place in June at Libbey Park. If you want to visit a lavender farm in person, Frog Creek Farm is open to the public during lavender season on weekends from 9 to 1. You can pick your own lavender for $10/bundle.
