Love-Inspired Cocktail Recipes to Celebrate Valentine's Day at Home

If you’re spending Valentine’s Day at home this year (as many of us are), a great way to have some fun with your significant other, roommate (or yourself!) is to play bartender and create some love-inspired cocktail recipes.

From a spiked hot chocolate concoction to keep you warm and cozy throughout February to a delectable Rose Negroni traditionally served on the warm beaches of Mexico, we’ve rounded up four delicious, love-inspired cocktail recipes courtesy of hotels from all over—including Rosewood Miramar Beach; Las Ventanas al Paraiso, a Rosewood Resort; and more.

Read on to learn how to mix up these delicious drinks at home for your Valentine’s Day celebration.

La Rosa from Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek (Dallas, TX)

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Código Rosa Tequila

  • .75 oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice

  • .75 oz Simple Syrup

  • 1.5 oz Cava or Prosecco

  • 3 strawberries

  • 1 egg white

  • Edible spray glitter

  • Small heart stencil

Instructions: 

  1. Muddle the strawberries.

  2. Mix all ingredients into shaker, except the Cava.

  3. Pour 1.5 of Cava into a Coupe Glass.

  4. Shake ingredients in shaker.

  5. Double strain mixed ingredients into the Coupe Glass with Cava in it.

  6. To finish: spray *stencil heart onto the cocktail and garnish with edible glitter.

*Heart made of strawberry syrup: strawberry, sugar, and water blended with liqueur Grand Marnier or Cointreau.)

Mi Corazon from Rosewood Miramar Beach (Montecito, CA)

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Añejo Tequila

  • 1 oz. Blanco Tequila

  • .5 oz. Agave Syrup

  • .5 oz. Lemon Juice

  • 120ml..5 oz. Lime Juice

  • .75 oz. Corazon Juice Puree Blend (Pomagranate, Blood Orange, Passion Fruit)

  • 1 Sliced Kumquat

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients to shaker tin.

  2. Hard shake and dump into rimmed rocks glass.

*Rimming salt includes kosher salt, beet powder, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, and lime zest. A few dashes of habeñero tincture can spice it up.

Rose Negroni from Las Ventanas al Paraiso, A Rosewood Resort (Los Cabos, Mexico)

Ingredients:

  • 30 ml Tanqueray 10 Infused Pink Peppercorn

  • 30 ml Manccino Rosso Vermouth

  • 30 ml Campari

  • 2 dashes of rose water

  • To Garnish: White chocolate with pink peppercorn and pistachio. On top of the white chocolate: dehydrated rose petal.

Instructions:

  1. Add ingredients to mixing glass.

  2. Gently stir.

  3. Strain into chilled glass and garnish.

Lover’s Knot 18 Spiked Hot Chocolate from River House at Odette’s (New Hope, PA)

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Godiva Dark Liquor

  • 1 oz Chambord Liquor

  • Fresh Hot Cocoa

  • Housemade Whipped Cream

  • Dark Chocolate Syrup

  • Cocoa-Cayenne Powder

Instructions:

  1. Preheat a glass coffee mug with hot water for 1 minute.

  2. Discard the water.

  3. Rim the glass with Dark Chocolate Syrup and then dip into the cocoa powder mixture. (Make sure both are evenly distributed around the rim of the cup.)

  4. Place the Godiva Liquor and Chambord into the mug and fill with Hot Cocoa to 1/2 inch from the top of the cup.

  5. Garnish with Whipped Cream and 2 dehydrated raspberries.
