Kensho Health Makes It Easy to Find High-Quality, Affordable Holistic Care

Kenshō Health is a platform and provider network that makes it easy to find high-quality, affordable holistic care from thousands of licensed providers trusted by top health systems, all in one place

Kenshō Health is the first platform and provider network linking consumers to thousands of holistic healthcare providers as a rejuvenation to the current healthcare system.

Launched right as the pandemic began, Kenshō Health was born to solve a pre-existing crisis: the current healthcare system. Krista Berlincourt, co-founder of Kenshō Health, personally experienced the flaws of the current system when she experienced adrenal fatigue and had over $20,000 in medical bills with no resolution. After exploring natural remedies around the world and finding success, Berlincourt and Danny Steiner launched Kenshō Health in February 2020.

According to the Center for Disease Control, 60% of American adults live with one preventable chronic disease. Kenshō Health wants to change this statistic by providing an affordable healthcare system without the guesswork. Because of this, the healthcare platform uses Care Matching to place patients with those who suit their needs and is available throughout the U.S.

“We like to think of our role here as the friend who is happy to do all the research, digging, and calling around for you so you can focus on getting better,” Berlincourt says.

The outline of the care matching process:

1. Tell our Patient Advocacy Team a little about the type of provider you are looking for, or if you aren't sure but want help addressing your symptoms, we can start there.

2. We will then research providers and specialties to match your needs.

3. You will then receive a list of personalized provider recommendations.

4. From here, we will work with you to identify the right provider and take care of booking and scheduling – like when you call the front desk of a traditional doctor's office.

5. Last but not least, we’ll send you confirmation of your appointment.

Part of launching Kenshō Health was Berlincourt’s speculation of wondering why more people were falling ill as medicine became more advanced. The answer lies in the fact that modern medicine focuses on treating symptoms, which is beneficial for acute injuries but not persistent feelings of disease. Berlincourt argues that it’s important to find the root cause of diseases. Kenshō Health has partnered with the publishing company Wiley in researching their treatments.

Kenshō was born out of cofounder Krista Berlincourt’s own frustration navigating the holistic health sphere, while trying to heal the adrenal fatigue that left her hospitalized.

Kenshō Health focuses on a variety of holistic practices and topics in the areas of chronic conditions, pain management, fitness, mental health, and more. Throughout all these areas, Kenshō Health has experienced providers who undergo a six point vetting process in order to get hired.

The six point vetting process:

1. Conduct a background check.

2. Confirm every credential.

3.Require positive patient feedback.

4. Review peer references.

5. Verify depth of experience.

6. Speak with each provider personally.

Steiner explained how providers have found recommendations of Kenshō Health from other providers, using the platform as a patient, reading about Kenshō Health in news outlets, and following them on social media. Berlincourt believes that all the pillars of holistic health (physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, and social) are interconnected and that’s represented by Kenshō Health’s large network of providers.

“Imagine  if you could find a holistic provider just as easily as you can book an appointment with a conventional doctor or get a prescription filled. And imagine if holistic care was covered by insurance and employers,” Berlincourt says. “We do. This vision is the thing that brought Danny and I together when we started Kenshō and it's the thing that keeps us going.”

Even if someone is trying a holistic healthcare provider for the first time, Berlincourt advises to stay curious and patient.

“The first practice or provider may not be the perfect fit. Speak with friends and family going through the journey for support and recommendations. Remember that beginning your journey into holistic health may shift other areas of your health in unexpected ways,” Berlincourt said.

Kenshō Health is available for children as well but providers have their own practices, and it’s advised to ask if they perform services for people under the age of 18.
