Hilton’s Conrad Bora Bora Nui Introduces Island Host Service

Conrad Bora Bora Nui is an award-winning luxury Hilton resort located in a private cove on Motu To’oupa.

The luxurious experience in Bora Bora has now been amplified. Conrad Bora Bora Nui’s new Island Host service, helmed by Head Butler Cédric Depaepe, accommodates guests with all needs while providing them with the authentic Tahitian vacation. 

The Conrad Bora Bora Nui is a Hilton resort located in a private cove on the islet of Motu To’oupa, giving guests a scene of serenity. With its villas sitting on soft white sand surrounded by a lagoon and a mountainous backdrop, guests are serenaded in seclusion and luxury. The resort has a variety of activities including swimming with sharks, the hilltop Hina Spa, a chef’s picnic on a neighboring island, among others.

Even as 2020 was a difficult year for tourism, the Conrad Bora Bora Nui ranked #1 in French Polynesia and #4 in Australia and The South Pacific in Condé Nast’s Traveler Reader's Choice Award, won Forbes Travel Guide’s "Recommended" Award, and is the recipient of the 2019 Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence. However, with the addition of the Island Host service, the resort continues to elevate its standards. 

The Island Host service is a butler service, catering to a variety of guest needs. From even before guests enter the resort until after they depart, Hosts are expected to work around the clock whenever they are needed. The Hosts are available to all guests at no additional charge.

Some of the services Hosts can provide are capturing picture-perfect moment’s for guests’ Instagrams, teaching guests about Tahitian culture like how to style a pareo, a private cocktail hour, and more. The five hosts also speak a combined 11 languages including: English, French, Japanese, Chinese, Cantonese, German, Flemish/Dutch, Italian, Russian, and Spanish.  

“At Conrad Bora Bora Nui, we are dedicated to creating a guest experience that exceeds the normal scope of activities and service,” says Stuart de San Nicolas, General Manager of Conrad Bora Bora Nui. “With the introduction of our Island Host service, we remove the responsibilities and introduce a member of the hotel staff to guests that can handle any and all requests.”

The resort’s new Island Host Butler service will elevate the resort’s five-star service as a team of dedicated Hosts will be available to anticipate and answer guests’ needs and provide exceptional services.

The Island Hosts are all trained from the South African Butler Academy (SABA). De San Nicolas explained that SABA was the ideal academy for training due to its focus on luxury resorts and its work in remote areas such as Bora Bora. 

Part of the Island Host service is welcoming guests to Tahiti. Throughout guests’ stay, the Island Hosts are expected to show where the cultural activities on the property are located. They also love teaching guests how to say “Hello” and “Thank you” in Tahitian. However, what distinguishes the Conrad Bora Bora Nui’s Island Host service to other resorts offering similar services is its humility. 

“We don’t have a list of predefined services we offer to our guests and each person staying with us gets a bespoke service; we look at every individual and how we can best serve them throughout their stay,” says de San Nicolas. “This warmth and dedication to service isn’t something that can be copied, it comes straight from the heart of our Butlers and they are what makes us truly unique.”

In addition to catering to guests, the Island Hosts greet them with a hand spritz and spray the villas with the new Conrad Bora Bora Nui Eau de Parfum by Coqui Coqui fragrance. The resort partnered with the parfumerie Coqui Coqui, as it is a Polynesian and Yucatan-based brand sold at high-end retailers globally. Guests are welcome with a Frangipani lush, rich floral fragrance combined with a bright citrus grapefruit, which compliments a comforting vanilla scent. Conrad Bora Bora Nui Eau de Parfum by Coqui Coqui (100 ml) starts at $125 USD and is only available at the hotel.

“We felt it was a unique way for guests to remember their stay with us by creating a scent that transports them back to memories of their blissful stay at Conrad Bora Bora Nui,” says de San Nicolas.

The resort’s welcome beverage also mirrors the signature Coqui Coqui fragrance and is made with green Tahitian grapefruit juice, Jasmine tea, elderflower syrup, and frozen yuzu.

For those booking a Royal Overwater Villa or a Presidential Villa, an option is available to book a private host in advance that will be dedicated to only your needs for the duration of your visit for an additional cost. 

Island Hosts are following COVID-19 protocols by wearing a mask at all times as well as sanitary gloves, and are vaccinated against the virus. They also follow the Hilton Clean Stay program standards.
