After serving as the CEO of Swedish beauty device brand Foreo since its inception, Paul Peros went on to launch RÉDUIT—a line of innovative compact devices that use microtechnologies to deliver the purest ingredients efficiently to skin and hair within seconds.

RÉDUIT’s Hairpods and Skinpods feature highly concentrated formulations that contain powerful ingredients which are delivered to hair and skin via a cutting-edge delivery system that applies magnetic fields to reduce surface tension of the product and diffuses particles 50 times smaller than a regular spray, creating a fine film that delivers professional-quality treatments that are more effective and less wasteful than traditional spray products. Additionally, the brand also offers a simple trade-in program that allows you to recycle used Hairpods™ in exchange for a free product

“I was fortunate to have participated in beauty early on—and intensely, managing the development of FOREO from its start to a couple years ago,” says Peros. “It was an amazing experience in connecting consumers with innovation. With RÉDUIT and advanced delivery technologies, I think to have found a world of new opportunities, a new challenge to push the boundaries of beauty tech even further.”

We chatted with Peros, who shared the inspiration behind his revolutionary line, the brand’s innovative technology, and more.

When was RÉDUIT founded and what does the name mean?

RÉDUIT was founded in 2019. The brand is new, but our work on enhanced delivery technologies started almost 20 years ago.

RÉDUIT was created with one vision: to revolutionize the everyday beauty routine. We started in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, with the dream of creating truly superior beauty products. From performance to sustainability and user-friendliness, we design products that truly elevate the everyday.

Neuchâtel and Suisse Romande are the center of both micro-technologies best known from the watch industry, as well as a number of world-renowned luxury cosmetics laboratories. In French, ‘Reduit’ means ‘reduced.’ We reduce packaging. Amplify results. Reduce time. Amplify efficacy. Reduce steps. Amplify beauty.

What inspired the creation of RÉDUIT?

RÉDUIT was inspired by nature. Somewhat different than is common: rather than focusing on specific plants or extracts, we are fascinated by integrating nature’s core principles in our innovation. Magnetic fields, for example, are key to our products' performance, but at the same time, these are the very same ones that make life on earth possible in the first place by protecting our planet from solar radiation.

Tell us about your products and what makes them special.

Our products are fundamentally different from traditional in the sense that they are (re)designed literally from scratch with the primary aim of maximizing the delivery of actives—getting the actives to where they are needed to do what they are supposed to do.

From ultrasonic diffusion, the creation of particles 50 times smaller than traditional aerosols in order to create an ultra-fine film for instant delivery, to the magnetic misting that further increases the active contact surface to make sure that all of these ingredients are in contact with hair or skin, RÉDUIT uses its proprietary technologies to maximize performance.

In addition, RÉDUIT has developed unique “light chassis” formulations to fit its delivery system without unnecessary non-actives such as thickeners, emulsifiers or fixatives that don’t contribute to performance, a greatly reduced overall number of ingredients, and significantly higher presence of actives. In addition to product performance, this also significantly reduces the environmental impact of the products where a 5ml Hairpod or Skinpod provides for applications usually found in 100 to 200ml products.

What is the hero product or your favorite from the line?

It is difficult to choose only one, but I think that Vapored Strength Hairpods and Hydro Boost Skinpods could be one in each of our two categories that I think are really successful products.

The first is based on a somewhat uncommon form of betaine found in beetroots that greatly improved hair strength and health. I was surprised at the results we could get from natural ingredients, usually less performant than their synthetic equivalents.

I really like Hydro Boost because of its wearability: the RÉDUIT system allows for the application of a super-fine film that provides great hydration without even making the product noticeable to the skin. This is bound to allow consumers for healthier and more beautiful skin without the hassle of day-to-day use.

RÉDUIT’s Hairpods™ are equivalent to 100 to 200ml of regular products and deliver up to 20 applications.

Where are your products sold?

We are sold on our website and we are also currently in the process of discussing placements with some of the premium retailers that we see could be a good fit for the brand and vice-versa.

What’s next for the brand?

We are probably in the most exciting period of the brand’s development. Having just finished the ‘20 launches in 20 weeks’ project, we now have 6 devices and 24 topicals ready to engage with consumers and professionals, ready to discover and learn, ready to evolve and articulate the brand even further.
