Lisa Goodman.

Our latest Beauty Boss is Lisa Goodman P.A., Founder of GoodSkin Clinics—a premier cosmetic boutique and medical office with a flagship location in Brentwood, Los Angeles and another office in Manhattan, New York. GoodSkin’s unique approach to cosmetic procedures is a focus on education first, followed by treatments, which has paved the way for its trademarked Untouched Look so that clients’ results look completely natural. GoodSkin offers comprehensive Healthy Aging Plans that recognize each patient’s unique facial structure and guide their treatment journey.

Goodman got her start working working at the offices of renowned celebrity dermatologist Dr. Ava Shamban. Then she worked in the offices of various surgeons in Europe, where she was inspired by their techniques and unique approach to cosmetic surgery. Since opening GoodSkin in 2015, Goodman has reshaped the industry standards through her refreshingly modern and science-based techniques combined with an honest, straightforward approach.

All of GoodSkin’s medical partners undergo and pass an intensive facial medical anatomy course offered only in the Netherlands. In order to maintain the same level of results at all of our locations, each medical partner also studies an extensive proprietary protocol manual under Goodman’s tutelage. Goodman pioneers American anti-aging by way of personalized regiments including Microneedling, Blanching, PRP (MD Depth), and more.

We chatted with Goodman, who discusses her approach to wellness and beauty, signature procedures and treatments, and more.

When was GoodSkin Clinics founded? What does the name mean?

GoodSkin Clinics was founded in 2015. My dear friend Julian Bunetta is credited with the name. He is a songwriter and produced most of the One Direction albums and I still remember the conversation. He said it was simple, based off my last name, and “had a song vibe.” He had already had numerous hits so I went with it.

What services do you offer?

Anything that makes people look and feel younger based on our philosophy of The Untouched Look. We offer trademarked techniques, regenerative medicine offerings, the latest technologies in laser therapy, IV therapy, medical facials, and skincare specialists partnered with Biologique Recherche.

The Untouched Look makes it undetectable that the client has ever had any Botox, filler or laser treatments. We want people to think, "Why does it seem like that person isn't aging?" rather than being able to pick out the different procedures on their face. It was actually a term that clients started to call our work! They would get remarks from friends asking what they were doing, but couldn't make out what the exact treatments were…they just noticed that the client looked healthier and as though they were aging in reverse. Untouched also means that we don't change the person’s look, but rather just restore them to what they were or keep them looking like who they are.

Do you have a specialty?

We specialize the majority of our work in the face and neck, but do also do some buttock and leg treatments.

Future plans for GoodSkin Clinics?

We recently launched the GoodSkin App so we can connect with patients all over the world who can apply our techniques to their own face. The GoodSkin app is a first-of-its-kind platform that offers both potential and existing patients the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in GoodSkin’s innovative approach to cosmetic procedures with a focus on self-education. The app complements GoodSkin’s brand ethos to guarantee that clientele are well-versed in the GoodSkin philosophy, with personalized offerings such as the ability to participate in a virtual consultation before scheduling an in-person visit. With these one-of-a-kind app integrations, GoodSkin streamlines the immersion process so that patients can achieve the best results possible when they do choose to move forward with treatments.

Who inspires you?

Dr. Claude Aharoni and Dr. Pierre alain Mayeux in Paris, Dr. Leif Rogers in Beverly Hills, Dr. Apa in LA/NYC/Dubai, Dr. Katie Goldie in London. These are all practitioners who are continually striving to innovate and never settle with mediocre results.

Secret to success?

Never settle with mediocrity, always be open learning more, and continue to innovate and evolve on both a professional and personal level.

Beauty secrets?

I quite literally subscribe to everything I promote. I follow a skin regimen (on most nights), I eat healthy (on most days), I work on my personal state of mind (always a work in progress), I receive regular lasers, facials, injectables treatments to treat my sources of aging, and I also believe in IV therapy. I know this all sounds easy since I own a place that offers all these things, but for anyone else in the industry, you all know that sometimes we put our patients first and put ourselves at the end. I go through periods like this, but do make time to schedule in these things for myself as they truly make me happy.

Wellness tips?

Do what makes you feel good. If following a 10-step skin regimen gives you anxiety, start with three steps instead. If injectables scare you, seek out more information, ask for photos, be curious, and be open. Listen to experts. Basically, take baby steps but then harness those steps and begin to build trust with someone and run. Baby steps will only take you so far and may actually leave you in the dust, so my advice would just be to start the process.

Favorite ways to relax?

I’m a big magnesium salt bath person while listening to a podcast. I’m currently listening to anything by Harville Hendrix. And who doesn’t love a funny movie? My favorite is It’s Complicated or anything by Nancy Meyers.
