Jenny Strebe.

Jenny Strebe.

Our latest Beauty Boss is Jenny Strebe, Founder of AIIR Professional—the first-ever line of crystal-infused hair products that are made with holistic elements from the Earth to deliver innovative results. They blend energetic crystals like sapphires and rose quartz with natural botanicals to support a centered life and healthy, vibrant hair. The collection features an incredible magnolia scent inspired by Strebe’s daughter, in addition to holographic labels that symbolize crystals and uplifting affirmations inscribed on each product.

Prior to launching AIIR Professional, Strebe worked behind the chair as a professional hairstylist, toured the country as an educator for the hairstylist community, and is a well-known hair influencer who created the popular blog, Confessions of a Hairstylist (@theconfessionsofahairstylist) in 2012. In addition to a massive Instagram following, Strebe also regularly posts video tutorials on YouTube and is the author of three books.

Strebe is dedicated to living a holistic and balanced lifestyle, which ultimately led to the creation of her haircare line that marries highly-innovative performance results with holistic elements that help manifest a centered life. We chatted with Strebe, who shared the inspiration behind the brand, best advice, wellness tips, and more.

When was AIIR Professional founded? What does the name mean?

AIIR was founded in 2019. AIIR means so much! Since I was a little girl, I have always gazed up at the clouds, knowing the sky is not the limit, perhaps it is just the beginning.

The name AIIR comes from always gazing into the sky, dreaming of the possibilities of life and all the lands the clouds touch. My story is defined by reaching my dreams despite the odds. The ebbs and flows of life are a wild ride and amazing hair is just one detail of our everyday. A detail which I focused on to prove we can incorporate nature and positive energy whilst having great hair.

What inspired the creation of the brand?

My personal journey. I’ve always been given crystals and stones throughout the years from my mother-in-law. I’ve been drawn to them and I put a piece of crystal in my pocket wherever I go to boost the positive energy around me. There's a power to positive thinking. Hair is a part of every woman and man’s life, especially during the big moments: weddings, bridal showers, your first day at a new job. Why not bring a part of this positivity into their hair care? I want everyone to truly feel positive from inside out.

Do you have a hero product?

Texture AIIR is our hero product because it can be used on everyone. Texture AIIR is not only our top-selling SKU but it also contains a staple crystal: the crystal quartz. The crystal quartz is like the skinny jeans of crystals...everyone can benefit from its healing powers. Clear quartz is known as the stone of power and amplifies any energy or intention. It protects against negativity, attunes to your higher self, and relieves pain.

What’s your favorite product(s) from the brand?

My favorite is by far the AIIR Amethyst Hair + Energy Refresher, a product that I developed myself. Through my own journey, whenever I had a tough meeting or client, I just wanted to get rid of that energy and clear my mind and space afterwards. Amethyst and moonstone combined are known to refresh your space. I wanted to create something people can use to help set their intentions.

Where are your products sold?

You can purchase products on our website, at professional beauty supply distributors SalonCentric and StateRDA stores, as well as at salons nationwide.

Future plans for the brand?

We are expanding the line per the request of our loyal customers! I can’t share details just yet.

What inspires you?

There’s two people that come top of mind: Suzy Batiz, CEO of Poo~Pourri and supernatural. She’s an amazing human. She’s trailblazing her own path and doing something that hasn’t been done. And I’m doing something similar on an unknown path as the first crystal-infused haircare line. There’s also Gabby Bernstein, mindset manifestation queen. She radiates positivity in a way that is relatable and very digestible.

Secret to success?

You have to be okay with failure and pivot. When you’re an entrepreneur and successful, you will eventually come across a rocky road. You will need to reframe any failure and roadblocks to make it a positive one. Know it possibly happened for a reason instead of victimizing it.

Beauty secrets?

I regularly get my eyelashes done, so I’m always ready and put together. I do so many Instagram lives and videos so it helps me look put together without actually putting in that much effort. For a quick fix, I also use AIIR Texture Mousse because it's mixed with volcanic ash, which is a natural oil-absorbing mineral and get this: it allows you to go days in-between washing because of the volcanic ash inside.

Wellness tips?

I start off each day by saying positive affirmations. It is scientifically proven that you can change your behavior and the way you feel after making affirmations a habit (which is why I include them on each bottle of AIIR products). Then, I drink a green smoothie. I can tell when I don’t do it, especially with my skin. My go-to includes half a cucumber, a handful of frozen berries, a handful of micro-greens, a scoop of protein powder, and coconut oil.

Best advice?

I heard this on a podcast the other day and it really resonated with me, it went along the line of how in life you can either pay the price of being disciplined to achieve your goals or pay the price of not achieving them at all.

How do you like to relax?

I do yoga every morning for am hour. It gets my endorphins pumping! During Savasana (when my mind is still) is where I get my best ideas!
