Why You’ll Love It: With the evolution of Saltgrass Spa at Hotel Bardo, we flipped the concept traditional spa on its head by integrating layered experiences into our treatment menu. We blend botany and apothecarian-style skincare lines with modern therapies, ancient healing techniques with progressive rituals new to the industry.

The experience can be as deep, familiar, and restorative or as far out, modernized, and experimental as desired. Though we operate with a  humble five treatment rooms, we weave opportunities for the wellness-curious into each experience. IV hydration and aromatic scalp massages meet botanical body balms and B12 shots for elevated energy levels.

Key Features: Take the elevator down to the lower level of Hotel Bardo and you’re immediately encompassed in blooms. From artist Vanessa Platacis’s hand-painted petals, followed by the rare flowering branches in our retail space and the installation of botanicals in our social lounge, we find that plants and flowers offer an opportunity to pause, be present, and appreciate the sensory experience of nature as it lends itself to well-being overall.

Beyond our traditional spaces, we offer a layered experience in our deep-rest lounge. A curtained, lowly lit landing pad for post-treatment bliss sessions. We love to add a half-hour in an infrared sauna blanket with a silk chamomile eye pillow for the ultimate cocooning experience post-massage.

Our dressing areas are equipped with Corpus Naturals skin and body care products and steam showers. We incorporate the steam showers into The Herbalist Massage, a deeply nutritive treatment that ends with an enveloping application of our most healing botanical emulsions followed by a steam shower session to transform and nurture the skin.

Snacks Served: We offer citrus and mint teas, a selection of beautiful wines and champagnes from Saint Bibiana, freshly squeezed green juice from Bar Bibi for post-treatment pick-me-ups, and even bourbon for those seeking something stronger. For bites, we offer crudite, bone broth, seasonal fruits, and smoothies.

Insider’s Tip: I am a holistic nurse with a background in wellness. I love to stack services and optimize the benefits for an extension of any beauty or wellness treatment that will echo into my overall well-being practices. For example, our massage and bodywork treatments pair perfectly with the infrared sauna blanket and PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field) mats. These treatments combined lend themselves to melted muscles and restorative relaxation for stress relief and healthy sleep patterns. To optimize the benefits, I book these services in the late afternoon so I can slip into the sheets after service and drift off.

Splurge Treatment: Without a doubt, The Alchemist Facial is a treatment I recommend leaning into. This experience incorporates Swiss-made skincare line Margy’s Monte Carlo and LYMA laser therapy. With the LYMA laser, we bring in the science-based technology of cellular regeneration through to further illuminate the skin with the LYMA laser.

Developed by geneticists and longevity scientists, this pain-free, FDA-cleared laser treatment is 100 times more powerful than the current LED facial light devices on the market, it has incredible all around anti-aging benefits, produces collagen and elastin, and tames redness, harnessing the natural cycles of the skin into a regenerative state with no downtime.

After one use, our guests are seeing an immediate effect of skin firmness, lift, and radiance. With continued use, the benefits only get better. This facial is highly effective and the perfect pre-event treatment.

Favorite Treatment: It’s a close tie between the Signature Facial with CODAGE Paris skincare or The  Herbalist Massage followed by a hydrating IV infusion.

Unique Treatment: The Herbalist and The Botanist’s Remedy Massages are both unique in that they employ specific ancient techniques combined with lymphatic drainage and herbal remedies for a true harmony of healing modalities.

Featured Products: We were very selective in our curation of skincare lines and chose to partner with brands that have a renowned following for efficacy, ethos, and experience. We offer a selection of products from Corpus Naturals, CODAGE Paris, Margy’s Monte Carlo, Seed to Skin Tuscany, and LESSE.

Beyond lotions and potions, we have a trousseau of one-of-a-kind athleisure wear pieces from Live the Process, Artemis Diciero, and Reigning Champ.
