The Spa at Sage Lodge

Sage Lodge.

Located on over a mile of Yellowstone riverfront, Sage Lodge overlooks the majestic Emigrant Peak and the surrounding golden grasslands. The resort is popular among anglers, hikers, and adventurers, blending the raw and rugged beauty of Paradise Valley with Montana’s hospitality. Sage Lodge has a restaurant and bar, a versatile event barn, and a full-service luxury spa. We caught up with Meagan Hennekens, Spa Supervisor at The Spa at Sage Lodge, to learn more about the spa’s amenities, treatments to try, and more:

Why You’ll Love It: Our guests enjoy the entire experience in The Spa Sage Lodge! Whether a guest is using the amenities (sauna, steam room, hot tub, and relaxation lounge) or receiving a service from one of our wonderfully talented spa practitioners, our guests continue to be in complete awe from the moment they walk in the door to the moment they leave. The most loved aspect of The Spa at Sage Lodge is the view from the relaxation lounge, steam room, hot tub, and sauna. Our location is in the middle of paradise and provides our guests with a deep sense of serenity, relaxation, and peace.

Insider’s Tip: The Goddess of the Spring essential oil company based out of Emigrant, Montana has developed two specific essential oil blends for The Spa at Sage Lodge. We use the Energizing and Relaxation blends in the treatment rooms and in our home-made sugar scrubs we create for the property. These blends are only available within our retail space at The Spa—they are not available online or anywhere else in the world!

Lodge Activities: Sage Lodge offers a variety of all-inclusive packages, including fly fishing adventures run by Angler's West Fly Fishing Outfitters.

Unique Treatments: We like to have our practitioners bring their skills and talents to the therapy table, literally. We have two non-traditional types of massage on our menu: Cranial Sacral and Myofascial Unwinding. These two forms of massage are considered to be non-traditional because the guest will wear comfortable, loose-fitted clothing while receiving their treatments.

Cranial Sacral massage is a gentle, hands-on form of bodywork that releases restrictions, and creates space between the cranial bones, spines, and sacrum. This bodywork is non-invasive and focuses on holding positions for longer periods of time to promote optimal nervous system function and stress reduction.

Myofascial Unwinding is a treatment that focuses on positional releases that help to unwind connective tissue. This non-invasive techniques enhances balance by stimulating the body’s reflexes for self-correction. This is done through gentle movements, comfortable positioning, brief compression, traction, and rotation.
