Product Review: We Tried SH-RD Hair Care
As much I want shiny, beautiful hair, I'm not very nice to it on a daily basis—which is why I absolutely love trying out new shampoo and conditioner. Bleach and heat styling are not my friends, and having a good shampoo and conditioner to combat the daily torture I put my hair through can make all the difference when it comes to preventing it from looking like a frizzy and damaged mess.
Recently, I put SH-RD's Nutra-Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner to the test. Shaan Hong (SH) is a Taiwan-based beauty manufacturer known for salon-quality hair products. If my hair could talk, I'm sure it would be saying, “Thank you!" It would probably also say, "Please stop using the curling iron!”—but that's another story.
With ingredients like rosemary and hydrolyzed wheat protein, SH-RD Nutra-Therapy Shampoo ($35) cleans hair gently without stripping and drying it out. (Tip: The less you wash your hair, the better.) Rosemary is said to stimulate blood circulation in the scalp, which can help promote hair growth. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that nourish and soothe the scalp. The shampoo is also available in a sulfate-free version ($23).
The SH-RD Nutra-Therapy Conditioner ($35) is intensely moisturizing. I found that it makes my hair soft, manageable, and less tangled when I get out of the shower. After shampooing and conditioning, I followed up with the SH-RD Protein Cream ($50), a leave-in treatment that helps prevent split ends and brings hair back to life. It contains a silk protein complex for shine and softness—who doesn't want soft, shiny hair?
Word on the street is that SH-RD products are used by celebrity stylist Ken Paves as his salon in Los Angeles. If it's good enough for Oprah's stylist…just saying. All in all, I'm a fan of the SH-RD products and will continue to incorporate them in my daily routine.
