Luxury resort Grand Velas Riviera Maya, which is known for providing world-class, all-inclusive experiences for guests, has added honey to the menu at its award-winning SE Spa. Freshly harvested daily, the honey is produced by the western honey bee, which is only found in the Yucatan Peninsula.

Inspired by ancient Mayan practices in the Yucatan Peninsula, the 80-minute Organic Kaab Honey Experience begins with a relaxing face and body massage featuring the honey. Guests then indulge in a bath with elixir made from the medicinal Chaka tree to heal the body’s energy. After the bath, guests are given a balm made with Mayan vanilla to seal the skin.

In addition to spa treatments, the honey is also being incorporated into culinary offerings at the resort, making it the perfect complement to fresh tropical fruit, buñelos (fried dough) and capirotada (Mexican bread pudding). The honey can also be added to Mexican candies such as palanquetas (a Mexican nut or seed-based bar) and amaranth for an even sweeter treat. The hotel also plans to roll out new flavors of its honey, such as orange blossom and mango.

Nightly rates at Grand Velas Riviera Maya start at $343. For more information and to make a reservation, visit the resort’s website, call 1-888-407-4869, and follow them on Instagram: @grandvelasmaya
