For the third consecutive year, Bed Head by TIGI took over as a pop-up at The Freehand, a boutique Chicago hotel, as part of the Lollapalooza festival experience. On August 2 and 3, 2019, concert attendees headed to the hotel to enjoy an array of fun activities and amenities, including complimentary hairstyling by Bed Head for men and women, a Lemonhead.LA glitter station, a makeup bar, and on-site custom temporary tattoos.

Upon entering the hotel, there were freebies of travel-size Bed Head hairsprays to take home and Waterloo Sparkling Water for hydration. Guests enjoyed taking pics and posing against a fun backdrop featuring geometric shapes and neon colors—a special theme that followed throughout the entire Bed Head area.

The event included specialty drinks and live DJs, and more.

To keep the music enthusiasts’ spirits and energy high, live DJs performed throughout the two days and included Dani Thorne, Brittany Sky, Dani Deahl, Jill Strange, Mondai, King Marie, and The Wife Of Wrath. The event also hosted celebrities such as Victoria Justice, Hayley Kiyoko, and Tayla Parx, among others.

According to hairstylist Beth Neneman from Omaha, Nebraska, there were about 10 hairstylists working on the main level and six more in the VIP area located 16 floors up. The hairstylists used two brand-new maximum performance Bed Head hairsprays with compression technology: Lightheaded and Showdown. The products exclusively launched at Ulta on the first weekend of August 2019.

Yvette Frontany, a local Chicago stylist, was at the event to help create amazing hairstyles, in addition to handing out Bed Head freebies like dry shampoo, hairspray, and neon-pink fanny packs. When one attendee asked about specific butterfly clips, Frontany took the four she had left and handed them right to the guest, which showed just how special this event was for everyone.

Event guests enjoyed complimentary hairstyling by Bed Head using the brand’s top selling stylers, including their two new maximum-performance hairsprays with breakthrough compression technology, Lightheaded™ and Showdown™.

On top of the various stations at the event, a VIP booth served exclusive Bed Head-themed drinks and food, such as grilled cheese, chips and salsa. For those wanting to shop, E|3 Collection had four boutiques in one store and sold clothes, shoes, and accessories while spreading the message to “elevate, enable and empower.” They use their platform for good and work to impact homelessness by doing things like converting trucks into mobile showers.

All in all, the event was a major success. If we could request for Bed Head to come around every weekend, we totally would. Stay tuned for another exciting event coming next summer!
