A fresh beginning in January is as good of an excuse as any to set new goals for your fitness and well-being. 1. Taking Those First Steps
Create a list of attainable goals, both short-term and long-term. This allows you to have a visible plan, which will serve as your daily reminder. 2. What You Eat
Moderation is essential. I don’t believe in diets, because they’re restricting and can increase your chances of binge eating. I do believe in portion control and balanced nutrition. Instead of having three large meals a day, have six smaller portioned meals with healthy snacks included. I love ice cream, but a healthier alternative could be a fruit that is equally as sweet. However, if you’ve worked hard towards your fitness goals for the week, then it’s okay to indulge in your favorite ice cream on a cozy Sunday afternoon. You deserve it!
3. Fitness Advice
Consistency, patience, and perseverance are significant throughout your fitness journey. They are major factors, and it is important to keep them in mind. Consistency is showing up on the days that you would rather not. Those are the days that count the most. Patience is trusting your hard work and dedication that you’ve given day in and day out. Lastly, perseverance is pushing yourself despite the obstacles that you will come across.
